Getting started
What is Citavon?

Yes. Citavon is free to play. Create an account at citavon.com and start straight away.
Do I need to download anything?

Playing the game
How do you play Citavon?
Upgrade the buildings of your city to produce food, wood, stone and iron and to collect gold in taxes. Research at the Academy, hire heroes at the Inn and train troops at the Barracks, and build defences on your walls. Then send armies across the world map to capture valleys, defeat NPC cities and take on other players, and found new cities as your noble title rises.
What resources are there?
Food, wood, stone and iron, made by farms, sawmills, quarries and iron mines outside your walls, and gold, collected in taxes from your people. Your army eats food every hour, so keep the farms growing with it.
Is a new player safe from attack?
Yes. Beginner protection keeps a new lord’s cities safe from attacks and scouting for up to seven days, or until a Town Hall reaches level 5, whichever comes first.
What troops can I train?
Twelve kinds: workers, warriors, scouts, pikemen, swordsmen, archers, cavalry, cataphracts, transporters, ballistae, battering rams and catapults. Each has its own strengths, speed, load and food upkeep.
How do I defend my city?
Build fortifications on your walls (traps, abatis, archer towers, rolling logs and defensive trebuchets), keep troops at home, and ask your alliance to send reinforcements.
What do heroes do?
Heroes lead your armies and run your cities. Hire them at the Inn, keep them in the Feasting Hall, and level them up. A hero’s attack makes armies hit harder, and the mayor’s politics raises that city’s production while their attack speeds up its troop training.
What are valleys?
Valleys are the forests, lakes, hills, deserts, swamps and grasslands around the map. Defeat their guards and hold them to add to your city’s production.
How do I get more cities?
A lord may hold one city more than their noble title allows: Knight, Baronet, Baron, Viscount, Earl and higher. Raise your title, then send a march with resources and workers to an empty flat to build a new city.
Playing with others
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Join or found an alliance for shared chat and mail, reinforce one another’s cities and set diplomacy (ally, neutral or enemy) with other alliances. You can also add friends to your account.
How do I join or start an alliance?
Build an Embassy in your city. With it you can apply to an alliance or accept an invitation, or found your own alliance once the Embassy reaches level 2 (it costs 10,000 gold).
Can I trade with other players?
Yes. The Marketplace lets you buy and sell food, wood, stone and iron with other players for gold.
About the game
Is Citavon finished?
